On June 30, 2025, three food startup incubatees of the DOST-PSU Aligwas Technology Business Incubator (TBI)—Nutriwrap, Nutrifish, and Anchovia—visited the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) Institute of Agriculture. This educational visit was part of the ongoing mentorship and technical assistance provided to the incubatees, focusing on food processing and product development under the TBI’s banner program, Sustainable Food System Solutions.

The visit aimed to familiarize the incubatees with various drying technologies and food processing methods at DMMMSU, which they could apply to their product prototypes. The activity included consultations with Institute of Agriculture experts to address technical challenges relating to prototype enhancement, scalability, and quality assurance.

Upon arrival, the incubatees were warmly welcomed by the faculty and technical staff. They toured the facilities where they learned about different drying technologies such as solar, cabinet, tunnel, and freeze-drying systems. Demonstrations also covered methods for food preservation, packaging, and shelf-life extension—key areas relevant to their products: Nutriwrap’s nutritious food wraps, Nutrifish’s value-added fish product, and Anchovia’s anchovy-based bagoong powder.

A consultation meeting followed, allowing each incubatee to present their prototypes, discuss challenges, and receive expert recommendations on formulation, processing, and improvements. This exchange provided practical guidance to enhance the safety, nutrition, and market readiness of their products.

The visit was valuable in expanding the incubatees’ knowledge of food processing technologies and fostering collaboration between Pangasinan State University and DMMMSU. The technical expertise and exposure gained are expected to significantly support the refinement and future commercialization of their products.

In summary, the June 30 visit to DMMMSU Institute of Agriculture was a successful and meaningful experience for the Nutriwrap, Nutrifish, and Anchovia teams, strengthening the DOST-PSU Aligwas TBI’s commitment to nurturing innovative, sustainable, and market-driven food solutions.
