On July 31, 2025, the webinar “Empowering Innovators: IP Rights and Tech Commercialization Awareness” was successfully held via Zoom and Facebook Live. This event was a collaborative effort between Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Bannuar Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and the DOST-PSU Aligwas Technology Business Incubator (TBI).

The webinar aimed to enhance the understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights and provide practical strategies for technology preparation and commercialization among researchers, faculty, students, and aspiring innovators. Participants included members of the academic community, research fellows, TBI staff, and external stakeholders committed to turning research outputs into impactful innovations.

The program began with a welcome message from Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, emphasizing the importance of IP education in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Engr. Roy M. Flores, TBI Core Member, presented the webinar’s rationale on behalf of Dr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin-Cera, Head of PSU Aligwas TBI, underlining how IP awareness and commercialization are vital to sustaining startups and university spin-offs. The event concluded with an inspiring message from Dr. Gloria M. Ducut, Center Head for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, encouraging participants to pursue innovation with creativity and responsibility.

Overall, the July 31 webinar exemplified a successful partnership between PSU Aligwas TBI and MMSU Bannuar TBI, significantly strengthening participants’ innovation capabilities and advancing a shared vision of a sustainable innovation ecosystem through education, collaboration, and enterprise-driven research.
