The Pangasinan State University (PSU), through the DOST–PSU Aligwas Technology Business Incubator (TBI) under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension & Innovation and the Office of the Vice President for Academics & Student Affairs, successfully conducted a three-day intensive online training on August 7, 8, and 11, 2025, in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation.
This training program, under the IGNITEX: Faculty Development Program, was specifically designed to capacitate and empower PSU faculty members in the field of technopreneurship. Its primary purpose was to equip educators with the knowledge, competencies, and practical tools needed to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into their academic instruction, research outputs, and community extension initiatives.
A total of 30 faculty members across the different PSU campuses participated in the training. Their involvement underscores the university’s commitment to broadening the reach of technopreneurship education and ensuring that innovation-driven instruction becomes a cornerstone of academic delivery across disciplines.
The DOST–PSU Aligwas TBI played a vital role in conceptualizing, coordinating, and facilitating the training, ensuring that it addressed the developmental needs of faculty members and aligned with PSU’s broader innovation and entrepreneurship agenda. As the university’s hub for technopreneurship and startup incubation, the TBI served as the implementing arm of this initiative—bridging academic instruction with real-world entrepreneurial practices, and creating pathways for faculty and students to transform ideas into viable and scalable ventures.
By strengthening the capacity of faculty mentors, PSU seeks to build a robust and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem that nurtures future innovators, startup founders, and technology-driven enterprises. Such efforts contribute not only to institutional growth but also to the national agenda of fostering inclusive development, industry competitiveness, and nation-building.
The activity also demonstrated PSU’s commitment to aligning with global and national programs that emphasize entrepreneurship education, innovation-driven development, and knowledge commercialization. Through this initiative, faculty members are positioned to become catalysts of change, inspiring students and communities to pursue entrepreneurial solutions that address real-world challenges. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Wadhwani Foundation for their invaluable partnership, support, and collaboration that significantly contributed to the success of this program.
