The DOST–PSU ALIGWAS Technology Business Incubator (TBI) proudly marked a major milestone with the successful conclusion of its first-ever NextGen Tech Pitch: Student Innovators at the Forefront — a regional innovation pitch competition that brought together the brightest young minds from Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
Held as a flagship engagement initiative of ALIGWAS TBI, the event served as a launchpad for young technopreneurs, giving them the opportunity to present their groundbreaking solutions to real-world challenges in front of a panel of expert mentors and evaluators.
The competition attracted an impressive 15 innovative projects, represented by 54 passionate student innovators and 15 dedicated faculty coaches from various higher education institutions in Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. The projects ranged from sustainable food innovations to technology-driven platforms, reflecting a strong commitment to societal advancement through science, technology, and creativity.
In her remarks, Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation of Pangasinan State University, expressed her admiration for the participants, stating:
“The passion and creativity on display at the NextGen Tech Pitch were truly inspiring. This event underscored the wealth of talent and innovative spirit present across our region.”
She was joined in support by PSU University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, who emphasized:
“These students are not just developing projects; they are building the future, and we are committed to providing the support they need to turn their visions into reality.”

More than recognition, the winning teams will be prioritized for Cohort 2 of the ALIGWAS TBI Incubation Program, where they will gain access to:

- Support in refining business plans and preparing for funding access
