The Pangasinan State University (PSU), through the DOST–PSU Aligwas Technology Business Incubator (TBI), officially made history with the grand opening of the Aligwas Buzzness Expo 2025 held at the PSU Bayambang Campus Grounds on September 17, 2025.

Designed as a convergence of innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional collaboration, the three-day bazaar aimed to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with broader market exposure and opportunities for partnership. The expo featured an extensive lineup of local delicacies, town specialties, processed goods, and emerging food technologies, drawing attention from students, faculty members, industry partners, and visitors from the local community.

The event commenced with a short opening program where Dr. RoseAnne Jane C. Agustin-Cera, Project Leader of DOST-PSU Aligwas TBI, emphasized the heart of the initiative:

“The expo was designed as a dynamic platform for MSMEs to present innovative products, services, and business models while also expanding their market reach.”

This was followed by an inspiring message from Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation (VPREI), who stressed the strategic role of the expo in advancing the local food sector:

“Ang food bazaar na ito ay naglalayong itaguyod ang inobasyon sa industriya ng pagkain at magbigay ng plataporma para sa pagpapakilala ng makabagong produkto, proseso, at teknolohiya na nagpapahusay sa industriya ng pagkain.”

The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was led by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, alongside representatives from DOST Regional Office I, DTI Regional Office I, and Provincial Agriculture. The opening marked the formal start of:

  • Exhibit viewings and booth engagements
  • Business networking between MSMEs and potential partners
  • Interactive dialogues involving market feedback, collaboration talks, and product demonstrations

Under the visionary leadership of University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, with the coordinated efforts of VPREI Dr. Resultay and her division staff, the DOST–PSU Aligwas TBI team, and Campus Executive Director Dr. Gudelia M. The opening day concluded with remarkable engagement from attendees, many of whom expressed renewed appreciation for homegrown products and proudly Pangasinan enterprises.
